Best Garage Speakers

Polk Audio Atrium 6

When you’re in the garage, you never know what spills or leakage you may deal with. That’s why it’s important for your garage speakers to have the ability to withstand the elements. The tweeter on this speaker is immune to the elements, providing you with insurance should your garage get wet.

If you want, you can also take these outdoors should you decide that you want to bring the fun outside. With it’s 5 and 1/4″ dynamic balance driver, you’ll be able to enjoy a full range of sound with frequency response as low as 60KHz.

They also look great, and you can choose from white or black depending on your preference. Mounting these speakers is easy as they employ a one-click speed lock mounting bracket. You can mount them vertically or horizontally, I recommend keeping them vertical to maintain proper imaging.

The water-resistant PowerPort is designed to let any air that’s inside the speaker to escape. When the speakers make sound, they move and produce air that moves, and it needs somewhere to go. It does this all while staying waterproof! The gold-plated binding posts offer 100% rust-free connections.

One downside of these speakers is you will need something to give them power as well as speaker cables. I recommend getting a standalone model like the SMSL AD18 which will power these speakers without an issue AND you can use the Bluetooth to connect to your speakers. It also comes with a remote which is a nice touch.

All in all, I think that if you’re after a waterproof garage speaker and don’t mind taking the time to set it up with an amplifier, then you’re looking at one of the best garage speakers I could find.

Pros
  • Waterproof
  • Can be taken outdoors
  • Tweeter can sustain all elements
Cons
  • Requires amplifier
  • Lacks a bit of low end

Also Great Garage Speakers

Pyle PDWR53BTWT

 Pyle PDWR53BTWT

You’ll be able to plug and play with the Pyle PDWR53BTWT garage speakers. If you aren’t interested in purchasing an amplifier and enjoying a crisp sound, these will suit you well.

With 300 watts of power and 2 high powdered full-range speakers, you’ll be able to crank out music at volumes way beyond your needs. Maybe just keep it down for the neighbors, though.

If you love bass these have a 5.25″ subwoofer and a .5″ tweeter. What I like about these speakers is that they are wall mountable but can still be used on their sides. You’ll be able to enjoy the frequency response these speakers provide.

Connect with your iPhone, Android, tablet, laptop, or PC. You’ll be able to stream your favorite tunes from The Beatles all the way to the heaviest of metal. You can also connect with an auxiliary cable.

Best No-Budget Garage Speakers

KEF LS50 Wireless II

The LS50s Wireless 2 are some of the best active speakers on the market right now. Active means that you don’t need an amplifier or DAC (digital to analogue converter), it’s all built in, so you can play your tunes in your garage right away.

You can choose from a variety of different services to stream from with Spotify, Tidal, Amazon, Qobuz and many more right at your fingertips. You can hook it up to work with Apple Airplay, Chromecast, ROON and it also has Bluetooth if you want to use it off your phone.

What I love most really is the quality of these speakers’ build. The outside enclosure is literally one of the most well-built speaker enclosures I’ve ever seen. KEF takes quality seriously, and with the build on these, you will question the rinky-dink enclosures of other speakers.

Now, to the sound quality, the LS50s are some of the best on the market. Not only will you be able to enjoy crystal clear imaging (that means you can tell where the instruments/singers are), these play LOUD! They’ll fill up your garage with sound no issues (unless you have a massive three car garage with tall ceilings).

Some say that bass is lacking on these, but when I owned them, I wasn’t too sad about the bass. If however you want to use a subwoofer, you can opt to use the subwoofer out and enjoy as much bass as you’d like.

The downsides of these speakers are that they’re not only pricey, but they aren’t waterproof as well. I think that as long as you know your garage is well built and won’t get any water inside, the LS50s Wireless 2 are the best no-budget garage speakers out there.

Pros
  • Doesn’t require amplifier
  • Fit and finish is top tier
  • Has all the connectivity you need
  • Amazing sound quality
Cons
  • A bit expensive
  • Not waterproof
