Let’s get started!

Best Table Saw Under 1000

DeWalt Table Saw DWE7485

  • Rip Capacity: 24.5 inches
  • Good For: Professionals or serious hobbyists. Cuts wood/plastic. Not suitable for cutting metal, cement board, or masonry.
  • Power Source: Corded

What’s great

The DeWalt Table Saw DWE7485 is a perfect table saw for professionals or serious hobbyists that need to take their craft to the next level.

You’ll have no problem ripping 4/8th sheets of plywood right down the middle with this bad boy. The fence has a detachable mechanism that will allow you to have 24.5 inches of rip capacity. Also included in the fence is a ledge that will hold anything you’re cutting, so you won’t have to worry about unstable material when ripping.

Changing the blade is easy, all you need to do is detach the lugnut and you’ll be able to access the blade should you need to change it. The 8-1/4-inch blade also will be cheaper in the long run over 10-inch table saws to replace. You’ll also be able to access the anti-kickback mechanism should you choose to use it. You get 2.5 inches of depth from the blade, sufficient for most on-site jobs and hobby projects.

The blade also has material packed around it that reduces any sawdust from getting into the internals of this table saw. This prevents any future jams that prevent you from getting work done. You can also adjust the tilt of the blade so you can cut the material at an angle. It also has a blade guard that will keep you safe.

The blade guard also has a vacuum attachment for easy cleanup. On the back, you’ll also find another vacuum port to attach a shop vac. It’s amazing how many features fit into this table saw, especially for the price.

Some downsides

You’ll find that the riving knife is hard to adjust and can be out of alignment. You’ll have to play with it to get it adjusted properly, you’ll need a 5/32″ Allen wrench to align it properly.

Some purchasers also mentioned that the on/off button on this table saw is a bit small. While this is a very minor detail, it can be a bit annoying when you are used to easy access.

If you’re a professional or serious about taking woodworking to the next level, this table saw is perfect. It’s not even close to the top end of $1000, and it’ll get almost any job you need doing right at home. You can also take it with you wherever you need to go.

You likely don’t need to invest in pricy cabinet saws and this is one of the best choices out there. Plug in a dust collection system of your choice and you’ll be good to go!

  • Affordable but also packed with features
  • Great for professionals or serious woodworkers
  • Riveting knife can be hard to adjust
  • On/off button can be a bit small

BOSCH 10 In. Worksite Table Saw 4100XC-10

  • Rip Capacity : 30 inches
  • Good For: Professionals that need the best table saw.
  • Power Source: Corded

This table saw is a little pricier, but also one of the best table saws under 1000. It has a 10-inch blade over the 8 inch DeWalt giving you a higher cutting capacity. If you’re ripping wood all day long, this might be the table saw you need in your life.

You’ll be able to enjoy the 15 amp saw with 4 horsepower which will cut any fine or rough material with ease. The rip fence also comes with material support so you won’t need to hold anything up while cutting. You’ll love the 30inch rip capacity as well for when you have a ton of wood that needs cutting.

The arbor lock is a nifty feature, it allows for easy blade changes with the wrench that’s provided. The smart guard system also works to protect you with the riveting knife and anti-kickback features which will allow you to get a perfect cut every time.

This table saw also comes with a gravity-rise wheel stand making it amazing for job site use. The DeWalt model doesn’t come with the stand, so you’ll need to account for that if you need to use it on the job.

Some downsides

At nearly twice the DeWalt price, it is a hefty investment. If you are a professional and will make use of your table saw, you might find that this model suits you better.

The start-up can also be a bit slow which can be a negative if you’re in a hurry but it’s a minor issue.

The Bosch 4100XC-10 is going to cost a bit more, but you’ll get great use out of it for years to come. I wouldn’t recommend it to a hobbyist, but for the pros out there that require power, this table saw is going to get the job done. The portable table and large rip capacity are nice touches!

Best Budget Table Saw

Rockwell BladeRunner X2 Portable Tabletop

  • Good For: Entry-level hobbyists. Cuts wood up to up to 1-1/2”
  • Power Source: Corded

What’s great

On your quest for a table saw under 1000, you’ll be surprised at how cheap you can go! You can save a ton of money if you only do small jobs and the Rockwell BladeRunner X2 might just be the table saw for that.

It’s lightweight, coming in at under 15 pounds. You’ll be able to take it with you anywhere. Switching out blades is super easy, it’ll take you under 10 seconds. The arm comes with 2 knobs, one to raise or lower the arm, and the other to control the blade guard to adjust the height you’re cutting.

This is not a typical table saw with a circular blade, it comes with a jigsaw blade. It has a 3/4 inch range of motion which is enough for a 2×4. If you just need a few quick cuts here and there, you may not need a pricier model with all the bells and whistles.

You can also use the miter gauge to make miter cuts. One advantage of this is that you can also use the jigsaw blade to make scrolling cuts which wouldn’t be possible with a typical table saw.

It comes with 4 blades that you can change out if you need. It’s also a lightweight table that you can take with you anywhere.

Some downsides

This table saw isn’t the best of the best and that’s obvious. It wasn’t made for any professionals so it comes with some downsides. Some of the cuts may not be perfectly straight which can be a dealbreaker if you’re in the business of perfection.

The guide bearing is flat so there isn’t much to keep the blade steady. This makes the cuts less precise, which can be noticeable. Some purchasers also mentioned that the upper arm is hard to adjust which can cause some annoyance if you’re using this saw often.

Since it isn’t using a 15 amp motor, it’s also going to cut slower than you’d expect. If you’re patient, then it’s fine, but you’re not going to get as much power as other table saws.

If you aren’t a professional and only do hobby-level woodworking, this table saw is an affordable option. You won’t be getting the most accurate cuts out there, but for most entry-level work it’s going to be suitable. It’s not the most powerful out of all the table saws out there, but good enough for some DIY projects here and there.

Remember this isn’t a contractor table, so don’t expect contractor level precision.

Do you need a table saw?

You may not need to invest $500-1000 on fancy new table saws. It may be tempting when you look at other DIYers and they have all the tools in the world, but do you really need a table saw?

You should be able to answer this yourself. Do you need to rip a whole bunch of wood that you can’t otherwise cut with the tools you already own? If you’re finding yourself spending hours trying to cut through wood with a circular saw as a table saw, then you may be ready for an upgrade.

I understand how tempting it can be to upgrade, but do a cost/benefit analysis and see where you stand. I like to invest in my hobbies, so I wouldn’t judge you if you went ahead and upgraded! The Dewalt DWE7485 is going to last you years should you decide to invest.

Safety Precautions

When using table saws, always take safety into account. Make sure you aren’t wearing gloves when operating your saw or you may risk injury. Ensure that you’re working on a stable surface and you have proper eye and hearing protection. Get a table saw that is full of safety features so you need to worry a bit less than normal.

If you feel like you’re tired, then do NOT operate any power tools or table saws under any circumstances. You may feel like you can power through it, but your best bet is to call it a day. Remember accidents DO happen but when working with powerful table saws, you don’t want to even have one accident!

Final Thoughts

Anyone and everyone can afford a table saw should they need it. I still think that for everything it offers, the DeWalt Table Saw DWE7485 can’t be beaten!

Alongside your table saw, you might also want to review the best bench vise! It’ll make woodworking or metalworking a breeze. So will the best miter saw, letting you make miter cuts with ease.
