Best TV for Garage

TCL 43-inch 4K UHD Smart LED TV

  • 43 inches
  • Built in Smart Capabilities
  • Mountable

If you’re looking for a well-rounded garage TV, this is the perfect fit for you.

What I like

My favorite part about this TV is that it’s the perfect fit for a garage. At 43 inches, you’ll be able to watch your favorite team make plays from across your garage with no problem. It’s not so big either that it becomes a problem trying to figure out where you’ll hang it.

This garage TV is 4k, so you’ll be able to watch anything in crystal clear, high definition, 3840 x 2160 resolution. It creates a lifelike picture that will transport you to anything you’re watching. Just be careful and try not to get distracted when working with heavy machinery!

You’ll be able to utilize the WiFi capabilities letting you stream anything you’d like on Netflix, Apple TV, or even listen to music through Spotify. If you’re thinking about adding speakers to your garage, you could make your new TV an entertainment center. It also comes with RokuTV as an added bonus, allowing you to watch thousands of shows and movies.

On the back is a 200mmx200mm VESA mounting pattern that will make mounting your TV a breeze. If you prefer to keep it on a table, then it comes with feet that will keep it in place.

What I don’t like

You’ll need to sign up with Roku before activating your TV and gaining all the features. This can be a bit of a hassle if you don’t feel like giving away any of your information, but for some users, it’s a necessity.

You don’t NEED a 60 inch TV in your garage. Most of the time, it’s going to be background noise while you get stuff done. That’s why I think this is the best TV for a garage, it’s not too big but still packed with all the features you’ll want and need.

  • 43 inches of 4k, high definition
  • Wall mount capable
  • Has smart features
  • Requires you to sign up with RokuTV

LG 43UP8000PUA

  • 43 inches
  • Built in Smart Capabilities
  • Mountable

This is another great TV that you can put in your garage packed with all the features you’ll ever need.

What I like

LG offers this TV in 43 inches which is going to be more than enough for any garage setting. Unless your garage is 20’x20′, you’ll be able to see what’s going on from any angle in your garage.

When you go to mount it on your wall, it already has a built-in 200×200 VESA mount pattern that will let you install it where you’d like. On the wall is likely better than standing as you won’t have to worry about kids running about and tipping it over by accident. You’ll get a better viewing angle as well with this TV.

This TV comes in 4K, so you’ll be able to witness touchdowns in crystal clear picture. Not only that, it has a native 60Hz refresh rate which will give you that clean, lifelike look if that’s what you’re after.

It has tons of smart features, including Alexa and Hey Google. You can even control your Apple products if you have them inside your house. You’ll have access to all the streaming apps you’d like to explore including Netflix and Spotify.

What I don’t like

If you think you might play games on it, the refresh rate will feel a bit laggy. This TV does have some issues with brightness as well, so if your garage isn’t well lit then you may want to check out the first option.

This TV is not going to break the bank while still performing extremely well. It’s a great first step into 4k without spending a ton of money and you’re going to be in the garage anyway!

  • 4k Picture
  • Smart Features
  • Mounting Capable
  • The lighting can be a bit poor if you’re in a dark garage

Best Budget TV for Garage

Proscan PLDED4016A 40-Inch 1080p

  • 40 inches
  • Mount capable
  • Full HD

If you don’t want to break the bank, the Proscan PLDED4016A is a great option for a garage TV.

What I like

If you only are looking for a garage TV with the basics, this is it. You’ll still be able high definition 1080p on an LED screen. The great thing is that you can choose to go down to a 24 inch screen as well if you’d like to save even more cash! Perfect for smaller garages.

It comes with VGA and HDMI inputs should you want to plug in a DVR or DVD player. It’s even compatible with older VGA inputs so you won’t need to upgrade your entire system.

If you’re tired of ads on your TV, this TV isn’t smart at all. While it can seem like a downside, it’s can be a good thing if you prefer privacy and noninvasiveness. Just plug and play, and that’s it!

It comes with a 100x200MM mounting VESA pattern so you can install it where you’d like. The viewing angles were said to be pretty decent for the price of this TV.

Best of all? This TV doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!

What I don’t like

It isn’t 4k which can be a bummer if you’re looking for a high-quality picture like the other TVs on this list. It doesn’t have any smart capabilities which can be a deal-breaker for some.

If you want a TV for your garage but don’t need fancy features, this is the best tv for you. You won’t spend a ton of money on stuff you won’t ever use and you can lower the price by opting for a smaller version as well.

  • Mounting capable
  • 1080p
  • No fancy features

Garage TV FAQ

Is it OK to put a TV in the garage?

If your garage goes through extreme heat or cold, it may not be the best idea to put a TV in your garage. The LEDs are liquid, so if they get too cold, they can freeze and destroy your TV.

For example, the TCL TV has an operating temperature of 5°C to 35°C (41°F to 95°F) and storage temperature of 15°C to 45°C (5°F to 113°F). As long as you bring up the temperature of the TV slowly, you should be fine to use it in your garage.

You can check out the best 120v heaters if you need to bring your garage up to temperature during the winter.

Should I put a TV in my garage?

If you spend a lot of time in the garage working on projects throughout the year, it could make your experience better. Nowadays, you can get a pretty good TV for a great price. It all comes down to how much use you’ll get out of it.

Also account for if you can wire cable into your garage. I’d check with your cable company to see if you’d be able to easily get a connection into your garage. You don’t want to be left watching old DVDs!

Is it safe to put a TV in my garage?

If you feel like it may be a distraction, then I’d recommend not getting one. If you’re always using table saws and jigsaws, then you may not want to take your eyes off whatever you’re working on.

Final Thoughts

You can find a great TV for your garage on any budget. While I do think that your best bet is the TCL 43-inch 4K UHD Smart LED TV , you can still opt for the Proscan PLDED4016A and save some cash.
